Four “herbal” erectile dysfunction products have been recalled by Medsafe after testing found they contained a prescription ingredient that can be fatal.
Acting Director-General of Health Andrew Bridgman warned consumers to immediately stop taking So Hard for Men, Pulse8 for Women, The Rock and Tonic 66, after Medsafe discovered they contained active ingredients found in prescription drugs Cialis and Viagra.
The ingredients – taladalafil and sildenafil – can interfere with some heart medications and could be harmful or even fatal to some people, Mr Bridgman said.
Earlier, another four erectile dysfunction products were taken off shelves for the same reason.
